My First Blog Post!
Hey everyone! I wanted to try out this feature on Pixieset that I haven’t used before. I also wanted to help you get to know me a little better! I’m working to get my name out there more and hopefully book more sessions with you.
Here’s a little background about me. I’ve grown up on my family’s farm, I’m the sixth generation, which is kinda crazy when you think about it! I’m very blessed to have been raised in agriculture and to have such a deep appreciation for what God has put into the world for us to live in and admire. On our central Illinois farm, we raise cattle and crops. I have a few cows of my own in our herd that are often featured on my pages. The one in the photo above is my baby, Narnie, I raised her as a bottle calf.
I started getting into photography in high school, probably around my sophomore year. I kinda stole my mom’s old Canon 60D and ran with it! I started with nature and cows, then got into a lot of sports photography at my high school.
Over time, I figured out what I liked and didn’t like, and started developing my own style. I’ve grown into lifestyle photography, capturing your life without everything being perfectly posed. That often means I spend time “following” you around and capturing candid moments while you’re working or just living your normal life. I can absolutely pose you or plan specific moments for your session too. I also offer posed sessions, like senior or family photos. If you have ideas, I’d love to work with you to bring them to life!
My focus is on agriculture and western lifestyles, both in my photos and my brand. I’m an ag girl through and through, and I do my best to advocate for this industry. Even if you’re not involved in ag, I’d still love to work with you, but if you are, I’d love to see what your life looks like and how your operation or job runs! I enjoy visiting new farms and businesses and seeing how others manage their operations.
I’m planning to continue posting mini blogs, either about sessions or about me. You’re always welcome to share my posts or recommend me to others so they can get to know me too!
